Iran has shortlisted 29 oil companies, including France’s Total, to participate in oil and gas projects via the new Iranian oil contracts (IPC), the Shana agency of the Iranian petroleum ministry reported on Monday.

This list also includes the Anglo-Dutch group Shell, the Italian Eni, the Malaysian Petronas and the Russian Gazprom.

Total signed last October the first agreement of a Western oil group in Iran since the lifting of sanctions and in November began discussions on new projects.

The IPC is a new type of less binding production contract offered by Tehran.
