These similar plans aim to help 10,000 households in each region to equip their gasoline vehicles so that they can run on bioethanol, which is less expensive at the pump.

A bonus of 250 euros

The bonus, in the amount of 250 euros to the tune of 50% of the cost of the conversion to bioethanol, is subject to strict conditions: it will apply to “employees who use their personal vehicle to go to their place of work. work ”within a radius of 60 kilometers round trip in Paca, 30 kilometers in the Grand Est.

In Paca, it will be paid, from January 1, 2019, if it is installed by a mechanic or a specialist in the region, “to promote employment” local, said the region.

A “giga-measure”

This measure, which must be voted on December 14, is “a real answer, both economic and environmental, to the difficulties that so many French people are encountering, following the increase in the price of conventional fuels and taxes”, declared the LR president of the region. , Renaud Muselier, in a press release. The region reports a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and 35% to 45% of household fuel budgets thanks to this conversion.

On Twitter, Philippe Vardon (elected National Assembly, the only opposition in the PACA regional hemicycle) mocked a “gigantic measure” which only affects 10,000 people, out of “5 million inhabitants”.
